How to Change Resolution Sizes for Screen Capture (on Mac OS X)

When you’re recording screen captures; try conforming your screen resolution to 1920x1080p OR 1280x720p.

Why Screen Capture Resolution Size Matters

This avoids any awkward black bars when you upload it to YouTube, etc.
It also helps us in editing. 😉

Solution 1 for Screen resizing:

 > System settings > Display > “Scaled” > and choose the resolution size.
(note: options in this window will vary depending on your display)

Solution 2 (the BETTER solution):

Download a free little app for Mac OS called RDM.

It lives in your menu bar so you can switch screen resolutions on the fly.

Hope that helps!
